James Kronzer has received more Helen Hayes Awards for his work than any other DC designer. He has been designing for Signature for over 10 years. His latest set design is for the current production of Show Boat.

Stephanie Waters is Magnolia in Show Boat. Her Signature career began at the age of 17 when she appeared as Anne in A Little Night Music. She returned in 2007 to appear in Signature's first production in the new space, playing Cinderella in Into the Woods.

Andrew Long

Helen Hayes Award winner Andrew Long is a one-man show in Signature's production of I Am My Own Wife—winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the 2004 Tony Award® for Best Play. Andrew, a classically trained actor, is making his third appearance at Signature—his first two were in musicals: Saving Aimee and My Fair Lady, in which he played Professor Higgins. He returns in a "straight" play.

Ed Gero IS the barber of Fleet Street. Can you believe it? The veteran of many a production at the Shakespeare Theatre, seen previously at Signature in John Strand's The Diaries, Ed Gero now plays Sweeney Todd, and he's singing up a storm.

Visit with one of the featured artists in Signature's production of the Washington Premiere of [title of show]. The New York Times called the show "Hilarious! A fresh new musical worth cheering!" It's a musical about writing a musical—a can't-miss for those who know and love Broadway.

Gather for a behind-the-scenes look by one of the featured artists in the World Premiere of Composer Ricky Ian Gordon's musical Sycamore Tress. Directed by the acclaimed Tina Landau, Gordon's new work is a moving story of his family's struggles and their reliance on each other through good and bad.

Conversation with Eric Schaeffer. Artistic Director and Show Boat director Eric Schaeffer sits down to talk about the upcoming production, and how he and the Signature team have worked to reinvent this classic American musical.

Conversation with Steven Cupo. A veteran of many Signature productions, first appearing at Signature as the Emcee in Cabaret for which he won the Helen Hayes Award, this season he's teaching a class for the Signature School: The Art of Cabaret—with a performance to follow the conversation, upstairs in the Signature Lobby.

Show Boat: The Film. Edna Ferber's best-seller "Show Boat," written in 1926, moved to the stage in 1927, and was made into a film in 1939. Filmed again in 1951 Show Boat featured Ava Gardner, Howard Keel, Kathryn Grayson, Marge and Gower Champion, Agnes Moorehead, and Joe E. Brown. Many aspects of Ferber's novel and the musical were changed in this film version. Program will run past 8 pm.

Conversation with Erin Driscoll. The Helen Hayes Award winner for her role in Urinetown is playing another ingénue, this time it's the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd.

Conversation with the Cast of Signature in the Schools. For the 15th Annual Signature in the Schools production, director/playwright Joe Calarco tackles Shakespeare—his life and times. The young cast is thrust back into the London of the 1590s—accents and all.

Conversation with Matt Gardiner and Hunter Bell. Playwright Hunter Bell is working with Signature's Associate Director Matt Gardiner to mount the Washington premiere of his witty new musical [title of show].

Conversation with Ricky Ian Gordon. Gordon is the second recipient of the American Musical Voices Project Award to present a new work on Signature's stage. Join the award-winning composer and Eric Schaeffer to discuss the process of creating a new work of musical theater and the challenge of doing it all yourself: music, lyrics, and book.
